WONDERFUL UNICORN- Wood Carving (Alebrije) - Oaxaca Mexico Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination". They are hand-carved and hand-painted of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel annually to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces. This great unicorn is a beautiful piece. The green body has white dotwork and purple and white flowers with dark green leaves throughout the body. The wings and mane are decorated with black, yellow and orange. The horn is white and red. The face has a wonderful expression. This unicorn is approximately 9" tall and 8 1/2" long. All pieces are removable. This is a wonderful addition to any collection.
