Description
Stylized Marble Basket—I really do not know what you might use this for. Gravesite? Sit it next to a marble lamp? Brunch flatware for six? It is far enough out of the ordinary ‘thing’ that perhaps anything goes—or maybe nothing—and I am just far out there. I do know it’s carved from two pieces. It is an elaborate carving job of vintage design. Most likely early to mid century 1900-1950’s (research is leading to a more 1920’s date) in good condition. I use the convention that baskets generally are made of….hmmm, other materials and so this item becomes a sculpture of a basket, instead of it’s self being a basket. In good condition . Base is original and glued (epoxy) to the basket.
