Description Thank you for checking out this item. Paul says: An unusual are reproduction of a carving by British artist R.H. Buxton, showing an elderly man, who is a shepherd, with a long shepherds crook and an umbrella. By the shepherds side is an unmistakable Bearded Collie. This has been taken from an art journal published in the 1930's and is not a modern reprint ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Robert Hugh Buxton was a sporting, portrait and landscape painter, illustrator and woodcarver. He studied at Herkomer’s School of Art in Bushey Hertfordshire and The Slade School of Fine Art London. Buxton was born in Harrow, Middlesex and lived at Wimbledon Common from 1894 and later in London from 1904. Buxton mainly painted landscapes, dogs and hunting scenes. Artist: BUXTON Robert Hugh (UK) 1871 – c. 1965 Title: "A Southdown Shepherd and His Dog" (Bearded Collie) Size: 5.5" x 4" (14cm x 10cm) paper size (+/-) Status: Vintage Art Print Condition Excellent.
